I did another fireplace remodel in San Diego that made a huge improvement in the entire living room! We started out with a standard tile and drywall fireplace surround and the owner wanted to cover it with some El Dorado Stacked Stone and add a new wood mantel.

You can see from the before shot what we had to work with.

After doing a bit of demo the mantel was ready for install before applying the El Dorado stone. The owner found a scrap piece of wood from a lumber yard that worked perfectly for a nice rustic look.

Then we were ready to install the El Dorado Stone.

The homeowner was extremely happy with the finished product! Here are his comments:
